Bilateral time-scaling for control of task freedoms of a constrained nonholonomic system

چکیده
We explore the control of a nonholonomic robot subject to additional constraints on the state variables. In our problem, the user specifies the path of a subset of the state variables (the task freedoms xP ), i.e. a curve xP (s) where s ∈ [0, 1] is a parametrization that the user chooses. We control the trajectory of the task freedoms by specifying a bilateral time-scaling s(t) which assigns a point on the path for each time t. The time-scaling is termed bilateral because there is no restriction on ṡ(t), the task freedoms are allowed to move backwards along the path. We design a controller that satisfies the user directive and controls the remaining state variables (the shape freedoms xR) to satisfy the constraints. Furthermore, we attempt to reduce the number of control switchings, as these result in relatively large errors in our system state. If a constraint is close to being violated (at a switching point), we back up xP along the path for a small time interval and move xR to an open region. We show that there are a finite number of switching points for arbitrary task freedom paths. We implement our control scheme on the Mobipulator and discuss a generalization to arbitrary systems satisfying similar properties.

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach
There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

In this paper we study the dynamics of the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer. First we consider the usual physical time component and the plan manifold R2, having the polar coordinates. Then a geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to a problem from the two dimensional geometric dynamics of the Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer. We consider a constraint sub...

In this paper, the min-time optimal control problem is mainly investigated in the linear time invariant (LTI) continuous-time control system with a constrained input. A high order dynamical LTI system is firstly considered for this purpose. Then the Pontryagin principle and some necessary optimality conditions have been simultaneously used to solve the optimal control problem. These optimality ...
متن کاملRobust Sliding Mode Controller for Trajectory Tracking and Attitude Control of a Nonholonomic Spherical Mobile Robot
Based on dynamic modeling, robust trajectory tracking control of attitude and position of a spherical mobile robot is proposed. In this paper, the spherical robot is composed of a spherical shell and three independent rotors which act as the inner driver mechanism. Owing to rolling without slipping assumption, the robot is subjected to two nonholonomic constraints. The state space representatio...
